Research profile

Professor Li's research mainly focuses on fertility preservation and reproductive medicine. She has led more than 12 national and provincial research projects with total funding of approximately RMB 13 million, including projects under the National Key Research and Development Program and the National Natural Science Foundation of China. She has published more than 60 academic papers in Chinese and international journals, including Nature Communications, iScience and Cell Death & Disease; is chief editor of three monographs and co-editor of eight; and has led the preparation of three expert consensus papers in reproductive medicine, including the Chinese Expert Consensus on Clinical Practice of Female Fertility Preservation.

She received the First Prize of the Shanghai Medical Science and Technology Award, Military Medical Achievement awards, and Military/Shanghai Scientific and Technological Progress awards, and holds two national invention patents. In 2016 she led the team that achieved the world's first live birth using MALBAC-PGD technology to prevent the transmission of polycystic kidney disease; in 2019 she led the team that achieved China's first live birth following healthy ovarian-tissue cryopreservation.
