Key milestones in the development of the association.
2017
The Shanghai Forum years
The Shanghai Forum for Fertility Preservation convenes leading clinicians and scientists for the first time. Over five editions, the forum grows into the region's dedicated meeting on fertility preservation, with hands-on cryopreservation training and international faculty.
2021
The association is founded
At the 5th Shanghai Forum, delegates from across the region establish the Asia-Pacific Association for Fertility Preservation, with a founding Executive Committee drawn from leading centers.
2021–2022
Building the community
Under its founding Executive Committee, the association begins its work of connecting fertility-preservation centers across the Asia-Pacific, holding its first online conference in December 2022.
2025
A new international home
The association establishes its permanent office in Saipan and incorporates as a nonprofit organization, laying the institutional foundation for its next phase of regional and international work.
2026
6th APAFP Conference — Harbin
The association convenes its 6th Conference in Harbin on August 21–23, 2026, jointly with the Harbin International Symposium of Reproductive Medicine and Assisted Reproductive Technologies, where a renewed Board will be elected.
