Membership
Eligibility
Eligibility for membership is defined by Article IX of the Bylaws. Membership is open to individuals interested in furthering the association's purposes, subject to acceptance by the Board of Directors.
Who may join
Conditions of membership
Under the Bylaws, membership in the corporation is available only to individuals who are interested in furthering the corporation's purposes and who have applied for membership and been accepted by resolution of the Board of Directors — or in such other manner as the Board may determine.
The association serves clinicians, embryologists, scientists and allied professionals working in fertility preservation and reproductive medicine across the Asia-Pacific region. This describes the professional community APAFP exists for; the formal eligibility criteria are those stated in the Bylaws above.

You are an individual interested in furthering the association's charitable, educational and scientific purposes.

Ending of membership
When membership ends
The Bylaws set out the circumstances in which a membership in the corporation is terminated. On termination, the member's rights — including any rights in the property of the corporation — automatically cease.
- The member dies (or, for a member that is an entity, the entity is dissolved).
- The member fails to maintain the qualifications for membership.
- The member resigns by written resignation delivered to the Board, effective on the date specified in it.
- The member is expelled or otherwise terminated in accordance with the Articles or Bylaws.
- The member's term of membership expires.
- The corporation is liquidated or dissolved.
Renewal rule: dues not paid within one calendar month of the membership renewal date result in automatic lapse of membership. See Membership Fees
Discipline of members
Suspension and expulsion
The Board of Directors may suspend or expel a member for violating the Articles, Bylaws or written policies of the corporation, for conduct the Board determines to be detrimental to the corporation, or for any other reason the Board considers reasonable having regard to the corporation's purposes.
Where suspension or expulsion is proposed, the member receives twenty (20) days' notice with reasons, and may make written submissions in response within that period. If submissions are made, the Board considers them and notifies the member of its final decision within a further twenty (20) days. The Board's decision is final and binding.
