The association is organized exclusively for charitable, educational and scientific purposes, set out in its Articles of Incorporation.
APAFP is organized exclusively for charitable, educational and scientific purposes. Under its Articles of Incorporation, the association's specific purposes are to:
- Promote research and clinical development in the field of human fertility preservation, and in fertility-preservation technologies for other indicated conditions;
- Foster collaboration between the centers across the Asia-Pacific region that offer fertility preservation;
- Organize academic symposia for the presentation, discussion, exchange and publication of research, data, knowledge and theories pertaining to fertility preservation — specifically, a forum under the name "Asia-Pacific Congress on Fertility Preservation";
- Do all such things as are incidental or conducive to the attainment of these charitable, educational and scientific purposes.

A strictly nonprofit organization
What the association may — and may not — do
The Articles of Incorporation place binding limits on the association, in plain terms:
No private benefit
None of the association's net earnings may be paid out to, or benefit, its members, directors, officers or any other private person. The corporation may only pay reasonable compensation for services actually rendered and make payments that further its charitable, educational and scientific purposes. It is not organized for profit and issues no stock.
No political campaigning
The association may not devote any substantial part of its activities to propaganda or attempts to influence legislation, and it may not participate or intervene in any political campaign for or against any candidate for public office — including by publishing or distributing statements.
Assets stay charitable
If the corporation is ever dissolved, its assets must be distributed for one or more exempt purposes within the meaning of § 501(c)(3) of the Northern Marianas Territorial Income Tax Code, or to the CNMI Government for a public purpose. They can never be distributed privately.
